Subjects studied in Grade One in Afghanistan Schools

1. Pashto Language:

First-graders are introduced to the Pashto alphabet and learn how to identify, read, and write letters and basic words. Basic reading skills, such as pronouncing words correctly, building sentences, and understanding basic grammar and rules, are the main focus.

 

2. Painting:

Through exercises involving drawing and painting, this subject fosters creativity. Students gain basic skills in color application, shape formation, and artistic self-expression. Their visual imagination and fine motor skills are enhanced.

 

3. Mathematics:

Number detection and counting are the first steps in teaching basic arithmetic. Additionally, students learn basic operations like addition and subtraction. The objective is to use interactive exercises and visual aids to establish a solid foundation in mathematical thinking.

 

4. Life Skills:

Students who take this course gain valuable life skills like basic problem-solving, social interaction, personal hygiene, and rule-following. this supports young learners’ social, emotional, and practical competencies.

 

5. Quran Learning:

Students focus on correctly pronouncing (Tajweed) brief passages from the Quran as they memorize and recite them. Islam’s teachings are presented to them, and they learn important passages from the Quran as well as fundamental moral and ethical precepts.

 

6. Calligraphy:

Students work on writing well-structured scripts, with an emphasis on the Pashto language’s alphabet. In addition to encouraging a respect for the craft of writing, this will help them write more neatly and with greater attention to detail.
